Is God's Power Limited?

Image
And the LORD said to Moses, "Is the Lord's power limited?  Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not."  Numbers11:23  As the people of Israel set out from Mount Sinai, after experiencing the provision of God and yet forgetting them; they once more think of Egypt and all the food they had there.  I get that, after walking in the wilderness, eating manna day after day, it would get old being hot and eating the same thing and your mind would wander back to those days in Egypt when you could have all the food you wanted.  They are remembering the free fish, the cucumbers, the melons, leeks, onions, and garlic.  Tasty foods.  And the wandering of the days intensified the taste of what they once had. In their remembering the food, they forgot the slavery.  They forgot what they were rescued from.  They had cried out in desperation to be freed from the Egyptian slavery only now to want to go back for food. Moses was distr...

A Love That Never Changes and Is Limitless

Image
For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from the Father. John 16:27   This verse is tucked in among the words Jesus was speaking to His disciples about His Father and Him returning to His Father.   Somehow, in our brokenness, we struggle to believe we are loveable.   If you listen closely, you don’t need to wait long until you hear the ache of wondering if someone wonders if they are loveable, enjoyed, wanted.  Even the disciples, the people who walked and lived in the presence of Jesus, wondered about His love.   Satan so wants us to believe we are separated from God.   That’s actually what he wanted from the very moment he spoke to Eve and got her to question God’s intent toward her was good and His provision enough.   That moment brought separation, death, but not from God loving us.   His love remains, but we must choose it.   We must choose to believe God i...

The Name of the Lord is a Tower

Image
The name of the Lord is the strong tower, the righteous runs into it and is safe (set on high). Proverbs 18:10. This verse would indicate that we have an enemy. The reality is, we do. We battle against the discouragement, doubt, guilt, fears, anxieties, and more that he brings and taunts us with.   This morning, as I was walking, I felt this tactic, the onslaught of discouragement. I was weary and tired while waiting on the Lord's timing in hard situations. I was feeling overwhelmed with weight of expectations and felt the weight of wrestlings and ones that were not just my own.  The whisper came, the name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous run into it and are safe.  I paused and spent the next moments thinking through some of the names of my Father.  He is the Way. And a guide for the way through. He is the Truth, His words matter most. He is the Life and He wants to give it to me abundantly! He is Redeemer, Restorer. Restorer of the years and th...

Evening's Glow and The Serenity of God's Rhythm

Image
The clouds.  The sky.  The colours. Are majestic and awe-inspiring.  God extravagantly splashes the sky with vibrant colours while other times He softly colours the expanse above us.  I never tire of seeing the evening or morning skies.  I am so thankful for a place, a home where we get to see the rising and setting of the sun. From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised.  Psalm 113:3 Malachi 1:11 He promises that there will always be day and night and the changing of seasons as long as this earth stands. He promises that He doesn't change.  He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Hebrews 13:8 And because of that fact, that Greater Truth, we can hang our doubts, our fears, and our questions on that reality and that, my friends, is faith. That stability can stabilize our fears, doubts, and unbelief. Oh Lord, Sometimes my doubts and fears and anger overwhelm my soul and...
