A Way to Walk Each Day of the Year
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. (direct your paths) Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB)
I don't know about you, but me, well, I realize how easily I slip into leaning on my own understanding, leaning on what makes sense to me.
But I know, deep down in my heart that the way to walk is to trust the Lord with everything I have, with all my heart.
For the Lord is faithful to direct, to straighten paths. This new year is filled with days, days of two choices staying with our Father or leaning on my own understanding. Each day I choose to stay with my Heavenly Father leads to a week, then a month, then a year and another, and then more... more secure steps on uneven paths because of the One who holds our hand.
It starts with one day, today. Today with it's new morning mercies is all we need to live. Today, I choose to lean in and on my Father, who directs my path. Today, I remember Who holds all of the universe, the world, and me in the care of His hand.
