Trust Even When There is Unknown

 



Trust in the Lord and lean not on thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.   Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust Me," Jesus says.  And that's easy until something or a situation looms so large before me that all within me screams to reach for taking matters into my own hands. 

History, past experiences, remind me that God is trustworthy. 

So, I breathe deep, pause and remember my Father's love runs deep and He is good whether my circumstances portray that reality or not. 

I take the next step, one step at a time, with my hand, in my Father's hand. 

Because His love is faithful, He changes not.

Choosing to Believe In the Midst of Disappointment and Finding Life

  "I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.  Do you believe this?"  John 11:25-26 These words were spoken to Martha as she met Jesus, who was coming to their place after Lazarus had died.  Jesus arrived four days after Lazarus was laid in the grave.  She met Jesus with her disappointment, after all, she had sent for Him to come.  She met Him, saying, - "Lord, if You had been here my brother would not have died."  And in the midst of her disappointment she held faith - "Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You." And then Jesus reveals a bit of Himself to her with the words that He is the resurrection and the life and she responds to Jesus' question - "Yes, Lord; I have come to believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God and He who comes into the world."
