The Symphony of the Water

The sound of the brook. The waters that flow, ever running down, around the fallen limbs of trees, and over the grounded rocks.

The rocks give the waters the sound that soothe the one who sits by and has the courage to still the beating pace of anxiety, worry, sorrow and listen.

Rocks. Are the hard pieces to our story.

Rock. Jesus is our Rock. Our place of unmoving stability,a stable foundation.

And here it is, I often think of the hard and unmoving that can produce a song.

And Jesus, our Rock, as we stay in Him, produces a melody that in a lot of ways my human mind wrestles to grasp the significance  and profound paradox of it all.

It is so true, though, as we find God and stay with Him, the hard things produce a melody that reaches deep in a human soul.  It reaches a place that sunshine and mountain tops don't.

And I wonder, to the human soul, when it witnesses the wonder and glory of the mystery of God in the middle of hard and devastating stories, it breathes hope and gives courage that another can also find a way through the murky chapters of one's story.

The pools of water are a delight. A place to splash, enjoy and soak in the water.

The roar of a waterfall is also a splendour and majestic to witness.

The gurgling waters over rocks calm the heart and restores the equilibrium of one's heart as you sit by the water's edge.

The song of the water.
The symphony of the  stream.
