Perfect Peace



You will keep in PERFECT PEACE 
those whose minds are stayed on You,
because they trust in You.  Isaiah 26:3












 Many things can rock our world.  Many things can shake our foundation.  But there is one thing sure... God.  His faithfulness.  His big-ness.  Nothing shakes His world or His foundation.  Nothing shakes Who He IS.
  And as we FOCUS, STAY our minds on Him, our hearts can know a peace beyond our understanding.  Beyond what makes sense.

Sometimes, we are at point A and we know where point B is ... and our hearts are not in peace.  But it's those hard wrestlings that take time.  And sometimes, in our wrestling we think our faith isn't, but I really wonder what God thinks and how He views it.
A friend shared a nugget from the book of Jeremiah... over and over God told His people... return to Me and I will heal you.  Return to Me... Her point was that God didn't focus on their sin, He wanted them to return to Him.  To trust Him.

God wants us to stay in the wrestle until we see Him.  Until we find Him.  Until...  Just like Jacob did when he wrestled with the angel and wouldn't let go until he blessed him.
Don't let go until you see God.  Don't let go until your heart knows a peace right in the middle of the pain.  Don't let go even if you can't see ahead and all looks immensely huge and scary.

TRUST.  When it's the hardest of all times to do just that.

Because God is holding you in His everlasting arms.  So stay.  Stay in battle with your heart's eyes fixed on Jesus.  I like how Lysa Terkeurst says it... you steer where you stare.

Choosing to Believe In the Midst of Disappointment and Finding Life

  "I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.  Do you believe this?"  John 11:25-26 These words were spoken to Martha as she met Jesus, who was coming to their place after Lazarus had died.  Jesus arrived four days after Lazarus was laid in the grave.  She met Jesus with her disappointment, after all, she had sent for Him to come.  She met Him, saying, - "Lord, if You had been here my brother would not have died."  And in the midst of her disappointment she held faith - "Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You."
