Engraved in His Palm






And he made the breastpiece,
And the stones were corresponding to the names of the sons of Israel; they were twelve, corresponding to their names, ENGRAVED  with the engravings of a signet, each with its name for the twelve tribes.   Exodus 39:8a,14

The breastpiece was on the front of the priest and close to his heart, a constant reminder.

You and I are also engraved.

But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, and the Lord has forgotten me."
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, and have no compassion on the son of here womb?  Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.  Behold, I have INSCRIBED you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.        Isaiah 49: 14-16

Choosing to Believe In the Midst of Disappointment and Finding Life

  "I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.  Do you believe this?"  John 11:25-26 These words were spoken to Martha as she met Jesus, who was coming to their place after Lazarus had died.  Jesus arrived four days after Lazarus was laid in the grave.  She met Jesus with her disappointment, after all, she had sent for Him to come.  She met Him, saying, - "Lord, if You had been here my brother would not have died."  And in the midst of her disappointment she held faith - "Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You." And then Jesus reveals a bit of Himself to her with the words that He is the resurrection and the life and she responds to Jesus' question - "Yes, Lord; I have come to believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God and He who comes into the world."
